Ride in honor of Rosa Parks
2월 4일에는 요금 징수 불가
To celebrate Rosa Parks’ birthday and her contributions to the civil-rights movement, we will not collect fares on buses, MAX, WES and LIFT on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
If you have never used TriMet or have not ridden in a while, we invite you to try us out. Portland Streetcar and C-TRAN also will be free to ride that day.
If you are riding on February 4, you will not need to tap your Hop card or buy a transit fare card — just hop on board. Transfers are free, too.
- If you tap your Hop card, virtual Hop card or contactless credit/debit card it will confirm your valid fare but you won’t be charged.
- Hop card machines will not allow any purchases on February 4.
- 요금 징수는 2월 5일 오전 2시에 재개됩니다.

About Rosa Parks
On December 1, 1955, Parks boarded a bus to ride home from her job at a Montgomery, Alabama department store. As directed by city ordinance at that time, Parks, who was Black, sat in the first row of the “Colored Section” near the front.
The ordinance required Black passengers to give up their seats if the front seats reserved for white bus riders became full. When the bus driver ordered Parks to give up her seat, she refused. Her act of civil disobedience resulted in arrest and set in motion a national march toward racial equality.
그녀의 용기 있는 모범을 축하하게 되어 영광입니다.
